Leigh-Anne. She asked what the date was as we were walking to get coffee. Since the flowers have the date on the back, I pulled out the flower to check. She said that today's flower was prettier than the one I had given her. On the way back from coffee she said, "I really want that flower." She asked if there was a rule against having duplicates, I said, "No" and I gave it to her. She said, "Yaaaay!" and "It is really pretty!".

People really liked the black flowers. This was the last black flower.

Leigh-Anne emailed me: "So, I looked at the original flower you gave me and it is dated May 30th…so it was 5 months ago…but even better you gave it to me on my second day with the company…smooth!"

Ha. I am smooth.

Rowan. He is in love with his iPhone and he wanted an "iFlower". I rebelled against this idea, but he is a friend and he really wanted it so I wrote "iFlower" on the back along with the date. He said, "Oh, it is different.", pointing at the flower and tracing the stem with his finger, "It is a little curvy." He got up from his desk and said, "I have to show Nancy." He said something about how Nancy had a regular, boring flower, but he had an iFlower.

Nancy. Yesterday she and Rowan fussed at me for not giving one to them. When I gave the flower to Nancy she said, "You did not have to give me one because I asked." She thanked me and asked why I gave them out. She said, "Aww. We forced you to do it. Isn't that sad."

Avignon: Jason at AOC. He liked it: I told him about the project. He is a museum marketing researcher. He talked about how museums are made by stealing artifacts. He liked that this project gave away art and liked the idea of a museum giving away art.

Woman Sweeping In Front Of Building. She said, "Thank you. I appreciate it!". This is the first black background flower I have given away.

But! Before that I got turned down! I tried to give it to a Woman Walking Past Me. She said no thanks, gave me the hand and steered clear of me.

...and last week, a Friend Of A Previous Flower Recipient said she did not want me to mail her a flower because I told her I would send her a black flower and that made me seem scary. Hmph to that! The background is black, not the actual flower. I should have explained that better.
