Corey. He works from Massachusetts and is in the office today. He showed me that he still has his other flower in his notebook. He has a white flower and I showed him today's flower and that it had a green back ground. He said, "Give me that!" At first I told him that he could not trade up, and he said, "Why not!?". I gave him the flower outright so now he has two. He put the new flower in his notebook and said, "See? Bookends!"

Roseanne. She dropped a penny on the escalator and picked it up just as the steps were going underneath the guard thing (I do not know how to describe escalators very well). This seemed dangerous to me, so I gave her the flower. She said, "aww. Thanks". Bill and I were talking about Flannery O'Connor and the reading I went to of her letters to Betty Hester. She asked about that and she said she was from Sandersville, near Milledgeville where Flannery O'Connor is from.

Woman at waiting for her trashy coffee drink at Caribou. She looked at it for about thirty seconds and then said, "May Twenty Second, Two Thousand Seven. It feels like this taken from a piece of art. Like you got another painting and cut it into a million pieces and wrote the date on the back." After she left, Bill said, "She was not that in to it."

Vasko. Yesterday, we talked about my giving away flowers and he did not know I was doing this. I gave him the flower and, with a smile and sarcasm, he said, "Ahhh!! My flower! Thank you. I feel blessed!". This was the last green flower. Kind of sad, huh? They were good looking flowers.

5/13/07

Cashier Woman at the terribly named Inman Perk. She called me baby and anyone who calls me baby greatly increases their chance of getting a flower. She said, "Thank you for my beelup, um, I mean, flower." I asked her what "beelup" meant and she said, "Nothing. I was just talking about something else." She was about to say something else, but her Coffee Maker Coworker said, "I want a flower!!" I told her I would give her one but the Casher Woman said, "I will give you mine Morgan!" They went back and forth for a while. I could not remember everything they said. I sat down with Jamie, with whom I was visiting, and Cashier Woman called out, "Thanks again for my flower. Happy Mother's Day!!!" I do not know if she gave the flower to her coworker or not. It was a very complex exchange.

Pregnant Cashier Woman at Taqueria del Sol. She was not that enthused about it and it seems that I was interfeering with her work, but she said, "Thanks" and, after Sarah said, "You get today's flower!" she said, "Very Nice".
