I gave two away today!

Flower 1: Genius Man At The Mac Store. He smiled and thanked me. He liked it and said something very low like, "Beautiful."

Flower 2: Lila, Jamie's Friend. She liked it a lot and smiled real big. She and Jamie worked at CNN together and Jamie told her about the project back in March. When I told her I gave one away a day, she said, "Oh! You're that guy!"

Vicki's Friend. I can not remember her name! Shoot! She said something really great and then she said, "Is it the only one you gave away today?" I forgot what she initially said and I asked her to repeat it. She said, "I gave you a hug" and she hugged me. Well, that was not what she first said, but that's ok.

Libby. She is a correspondent for Say-Sport. She asked for one but she lives in New York so I am mailing it to her.

Update: Libby emailed: That makes my entire day! Painted flowers are much better than real ones. Less transitory.

You are awesome! Thank you so much!!!

Hugs,
Libby

I got a hug!

Woman Sweeping In Front Of Building. She said, "Thank you. I appreciate it!". This is the first black background flower I have given away.

But! Before that I got turned down! I tried to give it to a Woman Walking Past Me. She said no thanks, gave me the hand and steered clear of me.

...and last week, a Friend Of A Previous Flower Recipient said she did not want me to mail her a flower because I told her I would send her a black flower and that made me seem scary. Hmph to that! The background is black, not the actual flower. I should have explained that better.

Evan's Friend Candi. She heard about the flowers Saturday night and said she wanted one. She even pouted a little. I told her I would mail her one. I was going to mail it yesterday, but it was 9/11 and I just wanted to hand it to someone.

Update: 09/05/2007: The letter came back! Her apartment was vacant. I checked and she is in it now so I resent it today.

UPDATE! August 30, 2007:I found the flower! It was in Trucklett. I asked Karl if he wanted to give it to Ms Snyder. He said no, but I should. She thanked me and said it was awesome.

Erika. She said, "Thanks man!" and she asked if I had piles of them sitting at home. I explained I made about 60 at a time. She asked if they were all the same color. No, some have a black background and some have a white background. I have not given away any black background ones away yet. She got one with a green background.

Kristen. I made a kind of scavenger hunt with clues that she had to follow to find the flower. She emailed me,

"the package has been delivered. the eagle has landed as of about 3pm today. it was a long and arduous journey, but in the end i was victorious.

"it was by far, the most fun i have had in a long time. i told jamie that it should be turned into a sport. lol. thank you for creating the experience for me and of course, thank you for my beautiful flower.

"kristen"

Very fun!

Two flowers were given today! I 'planted' this flower on the 14th. It was dated the 15th and she found it on the 16th. Since it was dated the 15th, that will be the post day.

Brooke in the Trader Joe's Parking Lot. I took her grocery cart and gave her a flower. She said, "You're the Flower Guy." I did not know what to think about her reaction, so I just said yes. She said that she reads my blog and she is friends with Tom Bell. We introduced each other. Afterwards, Heather said, "That changes every thing. You're famous." Ha! It was odd that someone knew who I was. Very fun!

Hey Brooke!! It was nice meeting you, thanks for reading my blog!!

Lisa, John's friend (girlfriend?). She is in Texas and he wanted me to mail her one. I made a frame out of a blank greeting card. I used water colors to give the card some color.

Talia, Jamie's friend. She said, "Thanks. Sweet!" She gave it to her daughter who really liked it. Jamie told me to tell the story behind it. I told her how I give one painted flower away everyday. She asked, "One?" She liked that. Most people like that I give it everyday, but she liked that I just give one and that I chose to give it to her.
