Woman Giving Out Chicken Samples at Chik-Fil-A. She looked me and said, "What is this?". She was wearing plastic gloves and acted like she did not want to take it. I told her it was a flower. She put the flower in the hand she was holding the sample tray with and said, "Thank you very much".

Counter Man at the Flying Biscuit. Karl wanted to give it to him along with a Moo card. The man said, "Nice." He looked on the back and said, "It's dated. Is today the 25th?" A customer said, "All day long" and the man said, "Where am I?". We ate our biscuit and, as we were walking out the door, he said, "Thanks for the flower!"

Brooke in the Trader Joe's Parking Lot. I took her grocery cart and gave her a flower. She said, "You're the Flower Guy." I did not know what to think about her reaction, so I just said yes. She said that she reads my blog and she is friends with Tom Bell. We introduced each other. Afterwards, Heather said, "That changes every thing. You're famous." Ha! It was odd that someone knew who I was. Very fun!
Hey Brooke!! It was nice meeting you, thanks for reading my blog!!

Sarah. She said, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww". She said "Aw" for a really long time. Her husband and her daughter each already have one, so she might have felt neglected. She said, "See, you talk with a guy about sex and you get a flower!" We were actually talking about intersexed individuals.

Corey. He works from Massachusetts and is in the office today. He showed me that he still has his other flower in his notebook. He has a white flower and I showed him today's flower and that it had a green back ground. He said, "Give me that!" At first I told him that he could not trade up, and he said, "Why not!?". I gave him the flower outright so now he has two. He put the new flower in his notebook and said, "See? Bookends!"

Roseanne. She dropped a penny on the escalator and picked it up just as the steps were going underneath the guard thing (I do not know how to describe escalators very well). This seemed dangerous to me, so I gave her the flower. She said, "aww. Thanks". Bill and I were talking about Flannery O'Connor and the reading I went to of her letters to Betty Hester. She asked about that and she said she was from Sandersville, near Milledgeville where Flannery O'Connor is from.

Woman at waiting for her trashy coffee drink at Caribou. She looked at it for about thirty seconds and then said, "May Twenty Second, Two Thousand Seven. It feels like this taken from a piece of art. Like you got another painting and cut it into a million pieces and wrote the date on the back." After she left, Bill said, "She was not that in to it."

Karen on the Frisbee team. Charlie calls her Heather for some reason. I pulled a muscle last month and she was encouraging. She said, "Thank you. How sweet!", and she asked about the date on the back. She said some other stuff but there was a lot going on and I do not remember what it was. Our team ended up winning the tournament. We are on the best Ultimate team in Atlanta! How fun is that?

Cashier Woman at the terribly named Inman Perk. She called me baby and anyone who calls me baby greatly increases their chance of getting a flower. She said, "Thank you for my beelup, um, I mean, flower." I asked her what "beelup" meant and she said, "Nothing. I was just talking about something else." She was about to say something else, but her Coffee Maker Coworker said, "I want a flower!!" I told her I would give her one but the Casher Woman said, "I will give you mine Morgan!" They went back and forth for a while. I could not remember everything they said. I sat down with Jamie, with whom I was visiting, and Cashier Woman called out, "Thanks again for my flower. Happy Mother's Day!!!" I do not know if she gave the flower to her coworker or not. It was a very complex exchange.

Jimmy. He was looking for floor 40 in the Sun Trust building (plaza?). The complex of buildings where I work can be very confusing and new comers are always bewildered. He wore a seer sucker suit. He said, "Thanks", but I think he was really more thankful for the directions.

I found out about an hour later that I had already given her a flower! A duplicate! This disappointed me greatly, I am not even sure why.

She asked, "One?" She liked that. Most people like that I give it everyday, but she liked that I just give one and that I chose to give it to her.

Woman who works with John Portman. The flower I gave her was kind of messed up, but she did not know that, of course. I felt a little bad about this. She told me about a friend that she has that gives random gifts. We ended up talking for about five minutes. Her building and my building were designed by John Portman, and I asked her about the third building that was supposed to be built where the outdoor parking lot is, but she knew nothing about it. She told me her name, but as we shook hands I spilled coffee on myself and did not hear what she said. Classic. She was very nice.

Rosie. She is a security guard in a neighboring building where the Museum of Design is. She took the flower and asked where I worked. I told her and she asked, "And you are giving me a flower?". She said, "Thank you" and introduced herself as Rosie. She asked if I was going to the park tomorrow to see the Dogwood Festival. I told her probably not and that it might rain anyway. She said she had an umbrella. She thanked me again as I was leaving. She was very nice.
I noticed that, because she was a stranger, I was trying to pull away from the conversation as she was speaking to me. I need to change this.

Kathleen, the concierge for the building I work in. She thought it was a joke and that I found it on the ground. When she realized it was not a joke, she liked it a lot and asked me a bunch of questions. She asked if it was the same material used to make sailboat sails and if I was an artist. I do not know the difference between the canvas used for sails and the canvas used for painting so I just said, "Yes". I said that I was not an artist, but I paint these flowers. Maybe I need to start saying yes to this question.
